Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Dancing Skeleton

How to Draw a Great Looking Dancing Skeleton for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Draw two ovals and an upside-down heart near the top of the page.
Sketch a semi-circle above them, then add a rectangle beneath the nose with a loop on either side. Outline the jaw with a long curve, a short curve and two vertical lines.
Drawing Step 2

2. Add dashes inside the skull. Draw the breastbone with a narrow tube with a small triangle on the end.
Sketch the neck with two straight lines, then use two thin cylinders like noodles for the collarbone. Use curves to draw ribs behind the neck and breastbone.

Drawing Step 3

3. Draw six more ribs. Sketch a curvy rectangle for the upper arm, then use wavy lines for the lower arm, drawing two bones that resemble twigs. Start the hand with a semi-oval.
Drawing Step 4

4. Sketch five fingers with long, narrow triangles. Repeat Step 3 for the right arm, adding another triangle for the thumb.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw four more fingers, then add the spine with two curved lines behind the ribs. For the left side of the pelvis, sketch a curve, then draw a diagonal line to make a triangle.
Take it downward with a vertical line, add a curvy rectangle, and connect the pelvis to the spine with a small triangle. Start the right side of the pelvis with a rounded triangle like a mountain.
Drawing Step 6

6. Complete the pelvis with another loose rectangle and a semi-heart shape. Draw the left leg with three large noodle shapes and an oblong shape for the kneecap.
Drawing Step 7

7. Sketch the left heel with an uneven oval. Add five narrow banana shapes that overlap each other. Repeat the previous steps for the right leg.

Without your skeleton, you wouldn't be able to tap dance. Study form and movement with a step-by-step dancing skeleton drawing.
This is more complex than a regular skeleton drawing. You'll draw bones at different angles to show that your skeleton is moving, not standing straight.
Notice how the head and chest tilt to the right, while the arms, legs and pelvis face forward.
Since bare skulls don't have facial features, you'll use artist tricks to create a cheerful expression. The raised "eyebrows" and slightly upturned mouth give the skull a subtle grin.
