Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Decorated Indian Elephant

How to Draw a Great Looking Decorated Indian Elephant for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

Decorated Indian Elephant step-by-step drawing tutorial: step 1

1. Begin the decorated Indian elephant outline by drawing the animal's head. Use long curved lines for the front of the head, the tusk, and the trunk.

Use shorter lines for the base of the trunk, the lower jaw, the almond-shaped eye, and the contours above and below it. Shade a round shape inside the eye to indicate the pupil.

2. Use a long, wavy line to draw the elephant's ear. Use shorter lines to contour inside the ear and at the base of the tusk.

Use similar short lines to draw the neck and finish the tip of the trunk. Then, band the tusk with curved rectangles, erasing as necessary. After the last band, draw a small square and a larger circle.

3. Use long curved lines to draw the elephant's chest, belly, and legs. At the neck, use a pair of curved lines to draw a collar. Then, use pairs of curved lines below it to create a leaf-like fringe.

Drawing Step 4

4. Use long curved lines to draw the elephant's back and its remaining legs. Extend two curved lines from the body to form the tail.

Allow the lines to meet at a sharp point, then use a series of curved lines to enclose a fluffy tuft of hair at its tip. Begin drawing "U" shaped toenails on the elephant's feet.

Drawing Step 5

5. Finish drawing the "U" shaped toenails on all the feet. Then draw a hat or headdress on the elephant's head. Enclose a double-pointed shape at the top of the head, with a scalloped, flower-like shape around it.

Use a curved line to enclose another circular shape, followed by another scalloped edge. Draw a long curved line from the scallops to the top of the trunk.

6. Add more decorations to the headdress - double-pointed shapes, a sun or flower, a curved line below the eye, and scallops below it.

Then, use curved lines that meet at points to draw a large flower shape on the elephant's back.

Drawing Step 7

7. Use curved lines to complete the flower, then enclose two rectangles around it.

Draw an oval at each corner of the rectangles, followed by a curved triangle with a curved line at the bottom. These are tassels. Draw another tassel hanging from the trunk.
