Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Geranium

How to Draw a Great Looking Geranium for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the geranium outline by drawing the five-petaled blossoms. First, use short lines that meet at jagged points to sketch the flowers' starburst-shaped centers.
Then, extend long curved lines from the center and double them back on themselves to form the wavy-edged petals.
Drawing Step 2

2. Finish the second flower, then draw two more. Again, use a series of short curved lines to form the flowers' centers and longer ones for the petals.

Drawing Step 3

3. Geranium flowers grow in a bunch, so continue drawing more of them.
Use a series of short curved lines to form the flowers' centers and longer ones for the petals. Notice that the petals are viewed at different angles - some are viewed from the side.
Drawing Step 4

4. Draw more geranium flowers. Again, use a series of short curved lines to form the flowers' centers and longer ones for the petals.
Drawing Step 5

5. Continue drawing the second bunch of geranium flowers. Again, use a series of short curved lines to form the flowers' centers and longer ones for the petals.
Drawing Step 6

6. Finish up the blooms, filling in any bare spots in the bunch. Then, draw a stem below them. Use pairs of curved lines to draw the sides of the stem as well as the twigs at its side and top.
Then, draw the sepals or leaflets of unopened flowers. Use short curved lines that meet at jagged points for the sepals. From each sepal, extend a pair of curved lines, allowing them to meet at a gentle point.
Drawing Step 7

7. Continue drawing stems towards the bunches of flowers, using pairs of curved lines. Extend two short curved lines from the remaining sepal and allow them to meet at a gentle point.
Then, draw the large serrated leaf. Use a series of connected curved lines to sketch the shape.
