Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Navy Ship

How to Draw a Great Looking Navy Ship for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the Navy ship outline by drawing its hull. Start with the curved line at the front of the ship - the bow. At the bottom of this line, use curved lines to draw the crashing waves.
Then use long curved lines to draw the waterline and the top of the hull. Notice how the top has an "L" shaped indentation.
Drawing Step 2

2. Use straight lines to outline a thick "t" shape on the deck of the ship. Use additional straight lines to give it a three-dimensional shape. Then, use curved lines to draw the deck of the ship and the hull in front of it.

Drawing Step 3

3. Draw two ovals and a tall, thin trapezoid on top of the tower.
Draw another, smaller trapezoid sticking out of the side of the first, erasing as necessary. Use straight lines to give the smaller trapezoid a three-dimensional appearance.
Draw a vertical line in the larger trapezoid, and a short line in each oval. Then, use straight lines to draw a parallelogram around the base of these objects.
Drawing Step 4

4. Draw a triangle on each side of the trapezoid tower and band each with a vertical line. Enclose a pill shape above the tower and connect it to the tower with curved lines.
Draw small rectangular windows and a horizontal line across the "t" shaped bridge. use straight lines to begin outlining shapes behind it.
Drawing Step 5

5. Use straight lines to draw another tower behind the first. Enclose a gumdrop shape and a trapezoid on top of it.
Drawing Step 6

6. Draw a vertical line inside the trapezoid and triangles on each side of it. Band the triangles with vertical lines.
Shade an oval above the trapezoid and connect it with curved lines. Then, draw a horizontal line across it.
Enclose a round shape on the deck. Draw a narrow, curved rectangle across the top, with two straight lines emerging from it. This will become the gun turret.
Drawing Step 7

7. Enclose a cylinder at the tip of the gun turret. Draw two more cylinders on and a gumdrop shape on the ship's deck.
At the back of the ship, extend pairs of curved lines that meet at gentle points. Enclose a cube between these shapes, and complete the back of the boat with a straight line.
