How to Draw a Simple Monster

1. Draw an oval near the middle of the page.

Then sketch a dash beneath it and add two hook shapes, one overlapping the top of the oval. Sketch another oval inside this shape, then cut a smaller oval out of it.

2. Sketch another oval with two ovals inside it and a dash underneath. Draw the nostrils with teardrop shapes, then outline the mouth with a wide semi-oval. Leave a gap at the bottom.

3. For the tongue, draw a long heart shape with a curve in the center. Sketch the teeth with rounded triangles. Make the bottom-left tooth overlap the tongue.

4. Between the teeth, sketch a semi-oval with a dip in the middle. Add dashes above the eyes, then draw two triangles for the ears. Sketch more triangles above the eyes, and connect them with straight lines.

5. Outline the horns with curved triangles. Draw hooks inside the ears and a straight line on either side of the head. On the left, sketch a small curve followed by a large one and a floating dash.

6. Repeat the previous step on the right. Draw the fingers with ovals, adding triangles for the claws.

7. Outline the body with two long curves, then sketch a horizontal curve between them. Draw the toes with two overlapping circles and triangles. Connect the right toe to the body with a backward L-shape.

8. Sketch the third toe with an oval and a curved triangle. Make sure that the first toes overlap this shape. Repeat the previous steps for the right foot.

9. Draw the tail with a wide triangle and a narrow point. Add two round triangles to the tail, then sketch curves inside the horns. Outline your simple monster with a black pen or marker. Fill in the nostrils and pupils.

Color your simple monster bright red with yellow horns and scales, pale yellow teeth and claws, a dark red mouth, and a pink tongue. Make the fingers paler than the rest of the body.
