How to Draw an Easy Flying Angel

1. Begin the easy flying angel outline by sketching the face. Use overlapping curved lines for the hair, face, and mouth. Then, use shorter lines for the closed eyelid and eyebrow.

2. Complete the outline of the hair using another overlapping, scalloped line. Extend two short lines from the hair and face to indicate the neck.

3. Use long curved lines for the sleeve, connected by a shorter line on the end. From the sleeve, extend two closely spaced lines, forming the arm. Connect them with a partial circle, forming the hand.

4. Draw the horn. Extend short lines from just above and below the mouth.

From these, extend long lines that start out parallel and then curve outward. Connect them by a curved line on the end, and draw another curved line parallel to it.

5. Use two long curved lines - one extended from the arm - to outline the gown. Connect the lines with a curved line at the end.

6. Create an angel wing drawing to close the gap in the gown.

Use a long curved line for the back of the wing and a series of long “U” shaped lines for the flight feathers. Contour the top edge of the wing with a curved line.

7. Draw more “U” shaped lines across the middle of the wing, and a series of parallel curved lines at its bottom edge. Then draw the second wing visible behind it. Use a series of connected, curved lines.

8. Draw the angel’s feet. For each foot, extend a curved line from the gown and double it back on itself.

9. Draw an oval above the angel’s head, then draw another oval inside it. This is the halo.

Your easy flying angel outline is now complete. Color your drawing.

In the Bible, angels were often described as wearing white garments or being copper-colored. In our example, the angel has white wings, a light blue gown, and a golden horn and halo.
