1. Begin the eight-pointed star outline by drawing a straight, diagonal line. You can use a ruler to make the line perfectly straight.

2. Draw another straight line on an opposite diagonal to the first. The lines should meet at a point at the top, forming an incomplete triangle shape.

3. Draw another straight, diagonal line crossing over the first line in an "X" shape.
