In anime and manga, as in the real world, jeans with holes in them mean one of two things - a fashion statement or the aftermath of a nasty fight.

Either way, you can use this easy, step-by-step tutorial to outfit your anime characters with ripped jeans.

Step-by-Step Tutorial for Drawing Anime Ripped Jeans

Learn to draw anime ripped jeans with the following easy steps.

Anime Ripped Jeans drawing - Step 1

1. For this tutorial, we'll focus on drawing the lower half of the woman's body (for more details, see the How to Draw a Body Step-by-Step). Draw two lines to indicate the sides of the torso. Below this, enclose a series of rectangles - some long, others short and narrow - to create the belt and belt loops.

Extend a line from one end of the belt to begin drawing the leg of the pants.

2. Extend two curved lines to outline the girl's leg (see How to Draw Legs). Remember that anime hips are wide and the thighs thick.

Draw two curved lines from the top of the leg to the center of the belt to form the zipper or fly. Draw a small circle at the top to indicate the button. Use curved lines to contour the belly button and the abdominal muscles on the torso.

3. Extend a pair of curved lines to outline the second leg. Enclose jagged shapes on the front of the thigh using zigzag lines.

These are rips and tears in the jeans. Notice that some of the shapes run vertically rather than horizontally - these are bits of fabric or thread hanging from the holes.

4. Draw ragged shapes to indicate tears on the opposite leg. Then, contour the junction of the legs and torso with curved lines.

5. Used curved lines to outline the lower leg of the jeans, culminating in a rectangular rolled cuff. Recall that like the thighs, the calf of the leg also bulges outward. Draw more ragged tears atop the knee.

7. Shade your cartoon blue jeans. These denim pants are usually blue in color, ranging from a pale hue to a dark navy blue. Jeans may also be black, multicolored, or basically any color you can imagine.

What to draw next?

These ripped jeans are a part of this manga clothing. Finish the drawing by giving the woman a face from the Cute Anime Girl Face drawing.

Then, add or change her outfit with a shirt drawing, pleated skirt drawing, dress drawing, or even a anime school uniform drawing?
