Drawing Step 3

3. Extend the end of the spiral with a long curved line. Coil it into a spiral at the top.
Drawing Step 4

4. Draw a long curved line from the top of the spiral, indicating the top of the paper. Draw curved lines from the center and the bottom of the spiral to the edge of the document.
Drawing Step 5

5. Finish enclosing the paper, extending a long curved line from the top of the paper to the bottom of it. Then, draw an "L" shaped line beside it. This begins the inkwell.
Drawing Step 6

6. Enclose a small rectangle at the top of the inkwell. Then, extend two long, curved, parallel lines from the inkwell. This is the central shaft of the quill feather pen.
Draw the side of the feather using a long curved line. Connect it to the shaft with a small "V" shaped line.
Drawing Step 7

7. Continue outlining the feather. Use short lines that meet at jagged points, with longer curved lines connecting them.
Near the tip of the feather, allow the lines to branch into a "Y" shape. Texture the feather with short curved lines near the shaft.
