How to Draw Yosemite Sam

1. Begin the Yosemite Sam outline by drawing his face. Use a curved line to enclose the irregular round shape of his large nose.

Use curved "V" shaped lines to outline his eyes, and shade an oval-shaped pupil inside each.

2. Sketch one-half of Yosemite's bushy mustache. Use a series of short curved lines that meet at jagged points.

Below the nose, draw a series of "U" shaped lines followed by a curved "T" shaped line. This is Yosemite's mouth.

3. Outline Yosemite's eyebrows and begin the opposite side of his mustache, again using a series of curved lines that meet at jagged points.

Enclose his ear with a "C" shaped line, and contour it with a short line.

4. Draw the bandana bow tied at Yosemite's neck. Enclose a rectangle for the knot. On each side, extend two curved lines and allow them to meet at a point. Contour each section with a curved line.

5. Extend two short lines from the side of the mustache to form the arm. Then, use a series of overlapping curved lines to draw his pudgy, round fingers and the rectangular grip of his gun.

7. Use curved lines to detail the tip of the gun barrel. Draw the cylinder of the revolver, enclosing an arch shape on the side of the gun and detailing it with "U" shaped lines.

Then, extend two curved lines below the mustache to form the character's torso.

8. Use a series of rectangles to draw Yosemite's belt. Then, use curved lines to draw his arm, hand, and legs.

9. Use curved lines to complete the legs and outline the irregular shapes of the boots.

Draw a large round shape around the head, forming the brim of the cowboy hat. On its side, enclose a partial circle to form the hat's crown.

Your Yosemite Sam outline is now complete. Color your character. He has red hair and usually wears a tan hat, red shirt, yellow bandana, blue jeans, and black boots.
