Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Cosmos Flower
How to Draw a Great Looking Cosmos Flower for Kids and Beginners - Step 1
1. Begin the cosmos outline by drawing the fuzzy center of the first flower. Use a series of small, connected, "U" shaped lines to enclose the round shape.
Then, extend pairs of lines to outline the ray flowers or petals. Connect each pair of lines with a wavy line.
Next, draw a "V" shaped stem using pairs of curved lines. One branch of the stem should support the first blossom.
Drawing Step 2
2. Continue drawing ray petals around the center of the flower. Use two curved lines for the sides, connected by a wavy line at the end.

Again, use a wavy line to enclose the circular center. Then extend pairs of curved lines connected by wavy lines to form the petals.
Drawing Step 4
4. Complete the circuit of petals around the second flower. Use curved lines for the sides of the petals, connected by wavy lines on the ends.
Drawing Step 5
5. Draw another stem using a pair of long curved lines. Enclose a round flower center above it using a wavy line.
Begin drawing petals around the flower's center. For each petal, extend two curved lines and connect them on the end with a wavy line.
Drawing Step 6
6. Continue drawing petals until you have completed the third flower. Then begin drawing the lacy leaves, erasing as necessary.
Extend pairs of curved lines from the sides of the stem, sometimes, allowing them to branch into a "Y" shape.
Drawing Step 7
7. Extend more pairs of curved lines from the stems. Draw smaller pairs of lines or "Y" shapes branching off of them.
