How to Draw a Hand Petting a Cat

1. Begin the hand petting a cat outline by drawing the cat's face. First, draw a rounded triangle for the nose. Then, use curved lines to draw the closed eyes, the "W" shaped mouth, and the chin.

2. Next, draw the shape of the head around the face. Use a series of long and short curved lines, noting how they give the sides of the face a furry texture.

Use two curved lines that meet at a point for the triangular ear.

3. Use a long curved line to outline the hand, thumb, and wrist. Complete the head with another triangular ear. Contour both ears with curved lines.

4. Use a long curved line for the top of the hand, and shorter lines to detail the fingers and thumbnail. Then, draw the cat's chest, again using a series of lines to give it a furry appearance.

5. Draw the opposite side of the cat's neck using a series of lines. Then, extend another series for the shoulder and foreleg.

6. Extend a long curved line for the cat's back. Use overlapping lines for the front leg and paws.

7. Extend the line of the back and double it back on itself to form the cat's fluffy tail. Detail the legs and whiskers with curved lines.

8. Use short curved lines to draw fur inside the ears. Then, enclose a rounded rectangle around the wrist, forming the cuff of the sleeve.

9. Extend the sleeve, and use short lines to contour it and texture the cat's fur.
