Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Kudu

How to Draw a Great Looking Kudu for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the kudu outline by drawing its face. Use curved lines for the front of the snout, the heart-shaped nose, and the almond-shaped eye.
Shade small teardrop shapes inside the nose to indicate the nostrils and a circle within the eye to indicate the pupil.
Drawing Step 2

2. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the kudu's mouth, jaw, and the side of its face. Use a long curved line, doubled back on itself, to begin sketching the horn.

Drawing Step 3

3. Use overlapping curved lines to continue the spiral shape of the first horn and to complete the second. Draw additional curved lines across the horns to enhance the three-dimensional spiral.
Drawing Step 4

4. Use pairs of curved lines that meet at gentle points to enclose the ears. Contour each ear with an additional curved line.
Draw the neck by extending curved lines from the ear and jaw. Use a series of short curved lines that meet at jagged points to sketch the hairy beard or mane on the front of the neck.
Drawing Step 5

5. Complete the mane, then use long curved lines to trace the leg and belly. At the bottom of the leg, enclose a round shape and split it with a curved line to form the hoof.
Drawing Step 6

6. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the shoulder, back, hips, and rear leg. Band the bottom of the leg with a curved line, and split the hoof with an additional curved line.
Drawing Step 7

7. Use pairs of long curved lines to draw the remaining legs. Band the bottom of each leg with a short line to form the hooves.
