Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Lime

How to Draw a Great Looking Lime for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin by drawing an oval. This will become the cut edge of the first fruit. Draw a long curved line from one end to the other, outlining the side of the lime.
Drawing Step 2

2. Begin drawing the triangular wedges on the cut surface of the fruit. For each wedge, start with a "V" shaped line. Then, use a wavy, scalloped line to complete the triangle.

Drawing Step 3

3. Continue drawing the triangular wedges of the fruit's flesh. Again, use a "V" shaped line and a scalloped, wavy line for each wedge.
Drawing Step 4

4. Draw the final wedges. Did you notice that a small circle is left between them in the middle? This is called the central core or placenta.
Drawing Step 5

5. Texture the lime segments with pairs of short, straight lines, and the skin of the fruit with small curved lines.
Drawing Step 6

6. Limes are often cut into wedges for squeezing into drinks or over food. Let's draw one. Extend a straight line from the existing lime. Then draw a curved line from one end of it to the other. Draw another curved line from the side of the first fruit to the bottom of the wedge, giving it a three-dimensional appearance.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw the triangular segments on the side of the lime wedge. Again, use "V" shaped lines and scalloped lines to form the triangles.

9. Draw a whole, uncut lime in the background. Use a long curved line to draw the top of the fruit. Then, enclose a rounded rectangle shape to indicate the fruit's stem, and encircle it with curved lines. Complete the lime outline with additional curved lines.
Your lime drawing is complete.
