How to Draw a Great Looking Quoll for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the realistic quoll outline by drawing the animal's face. Use short curved lines to outline the eye and nose. Shade an oval inside the eye.
Then, outline the top and bottom of the face and the ear with long lines.
Drawing Step 2

2. Use curved lines to enclose the triangular shape of the remaining ear and to extend the neck below the head.
Then, detail inside the ear, around the eye, and the fur at the side of the head with short lines.

3. Use long curved lines to sketch the back and foreleg. Use a series of short lines that meet at jagged points to make a tuft of fur at the top of the leg.
Use curved lines and teardrop shapes to begin drawing the claws and toes.
Drawing Step 4

4. Use a series of long and short lines - some of which meet at jagged points - to draw the belly and the rear leg.
Continue the toes of the front foot and begin the rear foot, using narrow teardrop shapes and curved lines.
Drawing Step 5

5. Finish drawing the rear foot. Then, use long curved lines to draw the remaining forefoot, raised in mid-step. Again, use teardrop shapes and lines that double back on themselves to form the claws and toes.
Drawing Step 6

6. Finish the front paw then draw the remaining rear leg. Use long lines and short lines that meet at jagged points for the leg. Draw the paw using teardrop shapes and overlapping curved lines.
Drawing Step 7

7. Use long curved lines - and a few jagged lines - to draw the back and the quoll's long tail. Use long lines to draw whiskers emerging from the face.

Quolls are Australian marsupials, meaning they carry their babies in pouches.
They have been described as "Australia's 'native cats,'" but they are neither actual cats nor very catlike. They love to climb trees and are covered in spots.
There are four species of quoll that live in Australia - the spotted-tailed or tiger quoll, western quoll, eastern quoll, and northern quoll. The New Guinea quoll lives on an island north of Australia.
Quolls aren't as famous as some of Australia's other marsupials. You can learn how to draw a kangaroo, the most well-known marsupial, or check out this koala drawing.
