Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Walrus

How to Draw a Great Looking Walrus for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the cartoon walrus outline by sketching the face. Use curved lines to contour the snout and eyelid, and to enclose the half-circle-shaped eye. Shade a smaller circle inside the eye to indicate the pupil.
Drawing Step 2

2. Shade two small, pointed shapes on the snout, and draw a rounded "M" shaped line above them. This is the walrus's nose.
Below it, use curved lines to sketch the rectangular lip. Opposite the first eye, use curved lines to draw another and shade the pupil within it.

3. Use a "C" shaped line to draw the other half of the lip, and curved lines for the brows. Then, use long curved lines to sketch the top of the head and sides of the neck.
Drawing Step 4

4. From the lip, extend two long, curved lines and double them back on themselves to enclose the triangular tusks.
Contour the lower lip with a short line between the tusks. Use longer lines to sketch the side of the body and flipper.
Drawing Step 5

5. Finish the flipper, using a series of short curved lines to draw the "toes." Use a long line and a series of short lines to draw the remaining front flipper. Connect them with a curved line.
Drawing Step 6

6. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the walrus's back and tail, including the details at the end of the flipper. Use a curved line to complete the front flipper.
Drawing Step 7

7. Finish enclosing the animal using a pair of overlapping curved lines at the base of the tail. Then, contour the body and face with curved lines.
