Pinwheels are familiar childhood toys. You can learn how to draw a pinwheel with the help of this easy, step-by-step drawing guide.
Pinwheels like this one have curved, pointed vanes that catch the wind and cause them to spin.
Compare its vanes to the one in this weathervane drawing. They are shaped differently, but they catch the wind nonetheless.
Pinwheels are like miniature versions of old-timey windmills, like the one in this windmill drawing. Windmills, though, use wind power to do farm work.
You can also compare this anemometer drawing, another device that catches the wind and spins.
This pinwheel is decorated with stars and stripes in a patriotic fashion. Fireworks - another staple of the Fourth of July - sometimes create pinwheels in the sky.
