How to Draw a Cute Lion for Kids

1. Begin the cute lion for kids outline by drawing its large eyes. For each eye, draw a curved line, then enclose an oval shape on top of it.

Shade a smaller oval inside each eye. Draw a small inverted triangle between the eyes - this is the lion's nose.

2. Draw a curved "W" below the nose and a "U" shaped line below that. This outlines the lion's mouth. Inside the mouth, use short lines to sketch the two fangs, the teeth between them, and the tongue.

3. Use a long curved line to outline the lion's face. Use short lines for the whiskers on each side of the nose and the dimple below the chin.

4. Use a curved line and a "C" shaped line to draw each ear. Then, at the top of the face, begin drawing the mane. Use pairs of curved lines that meet at points.

5. Use a series of connected, curved lines to begin drawing the cloudlike mane around the lion's head. Use short lines to contour inside the ears and to form the eyebrows.

6. Use a series of curved lines to complete the mane, and another to draw the leg and paw.

7. Draw the remaining foreleg, then draw a "C" shaped line on each side. Connect these to the mane with short lines, forming the lion's sides and rear legs.

8. Use a series of curved lines to enclose each of the lion's rear feet. Then extend a pair of curved lines from one of the back legs. This will become the lion's tail.

9. Enclose a partial circle on the bottom of each foot. Then, use a series of curved lines to enclose a fluffy tuft of fur at the tip of the tail.

Your cute lion outline is now complete. Color your character. Most lions are tan with darker manes.
