Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Golden Retriever Face

How to Draw a Great Looking Golden Retriever Face for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the golden retriever face outline by drawing the dog’s eyes. Use two curved lines for each eye. Notice how the lines overlap at the outer corner. Then, shade a large circle in the center of each eye to indicate the pupils.
Drawing Step 2

2. Draw the dog’s nose. Use curved lines for the top and bottom of the nose, but don’t let them touch. Then, draw the nostrils using spiral-shaped lines.

Drawing Step 3

3. Outline the dog’s muzzle or snout. Draw an inverted “Y” shaped line below the nose, and angle the tips of the lines upward. Then, draw curved lines above them.
Drawing Step 4

4. Sketch the sides of the dog’s head, using a series of overlapping curved lines to give it a furry appearance. Do the same for the chin.
Drawing Step 5

5. Draw a series of overlapping curved lines above each eye to indicate the brows. Then, sketch the top of the head using a long curved line. From it, extend the lines that will become the tops of the ears. Notice the short lines that meet at jagged points, creating a tuft of fur.
Drawing Step 6

6. Continue the ears using long curved lines. Again, notice the short, jagged lines that lend the appearance of fur. Texture the sides of the head at the base of the ears as well.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw the side of the dog’s neck, using lines of different lengths that meet at furry, jagged points.
