Since ancient times, various peoples have worn hooded garments. Today, the hoodie or hooded sweatshirt is a popular and comfortable clothing choice.
It is often considered "urban wear" or "streetwear." You can outfit your anime or manga character with this easy, step-by-step anime hoodie drawing.
Step-by-Step Tutorial for Drawing an Anime Hoodie
Whether they're warming up, working out, getting comfortable, or trying to conceal their identity, your anime characters need this hoodie in their wardrobe.
You will notice that the hoodie in this illustration is worn by a woman. Men can wear hoodies, too - simply adjust the proportions of the drawing to suit the anime male body outline.

1. Begin by drawing a curved "V" shaped line to outline the neck opening of the hoodie. Enclose a small circle and a teardrop shape at the point of the "V;" this is the hoodie's zipper.
On each side of the neckline, use overlapping curved lines to create the triangular shapes of the hood as it lays across the shoulders.

2. Use a pair of curved lines to indicate the rounded neck of a t-shirt visible within the neckline of the hoodie. Use additional curved lines to draw and contour the woman's neck.

3. Use curved lines to sketch the shoulders of the hoodie and the woman's chest. From the layers of the hood, extend two pairs of curved lines, and enclose them with small rounded shapes on the end. These are the hood's drawstrings.

4. Use wavy curved lines to craft the loose material of the sleeve. At the bottom of the sleeve, enclose a rounded cuff and begin sketching the woman's hand.
Leave the hand incomplete, as the fingers will soon disappear inside the hoodie pocket.

5. Use curved lines to finish outlining the torso of the hoody. Keep in mind the typical proportions of an anime woman's body.

6. Use five curved lines, along with the bottom of the hoodie, to enclose the hexagonal shape of the pocket. Use curved lines to contour the fabric of the garment's chest, abdomen, and pocket.

7. Use short curved lines to contour the fabric of the hoodie sleeve. Extend a pair of curved lines from the zipper pull at the base of the neck to the bottom hem of the garment. This is the zipper.

8. Use curved lines to sketch and contour the remaining sleeve, cuff, and hand.

9. Color your cartoon hoodie. These garments are very versatile, and they come in every color you can imagine.
