1. Begin by sketching the female face. Use curved lines to outline the eyes, pointed at each color. Make the upper line of the eye thick and dark. Within each eye, draw two successively smaller circles. Shade between them, indicating the pupil. Use curved lines to sketch the nose, smiling mouth, and lips.

2. Use curved lines to outline Athena's face and hair. Note the contour of the cheek and point of the chin. Use "U" shaped lines for the hair, and allow some to meet at points. Use curved lines to sketch the eyebrows.
