How to Draw a Great Looking Cassowary for Kids and Beginners - Step 1

1. Begin the cartoon cassowary outline by drawing its beak. Use a curved "V" shaped line.
Then, enclose the rounded shape of the eye and shade a small round pupil inside it. Contour around the eye with short lines.

2. Use curved lines to sketch the nostril, the bottom of the beak, the rounded triangular casque or helmet on top of the head, and the back of the head.

3. Extend the long curved lines of the neck, leaving spaces for the fleshy wattles. Draw the first wattle using a curved line doubled back on itself. Contour the face with curved lines.
