How to Draw a Doberman

1. Begin the cartoon Doberman outline by drawing the dog's face. Use curved lines to trace the triangular eyes.

Shade a round pupil inside each. From the corner of the smaller far eye, extend a curved line. Draw an oval at the end. This is the dog's snout and nose.

2. Use overlapping curved lines to draw the dog's forehead, muzzle, and open mouth. Draw the eyebrows using short lines and the nostrils using small circles.

3. Use a series of intersecting curved lines to enclose the dog's triangular ear and the top of its head. Then, use overlapping curved lines to draw the tongue, teeth, and bottom of the jaw.

4. Use two curved lines to trace the remaining triangular ear. Extend one line to form the dog's neck and shoulder. Use short lines to contour inside the ears, and long lines for the neck and chest.

5. Use two long curved lines to draw the sides of the dog's leg. Enclose the paw at the bottom, using short, overlapping curved lines to draw the toes.

Extend a curved line from the back of the leg to form the slim belly.

6. Draw the remaining foreleg. Again, use long curved lines for the sides of the leg and short, overlapping curved lines for the toes.

From the shoulder, extend a curved line to trace the back and hindquarters.

7. Draw the rear leg. Again, use long curved lines for the sides of the leg and short, overlapping curved lines for the toes. Notice how this leg is positioned at a diagonal angle.

8. Draw the remaining leg. Again, use long curved lines for the sides of the leg and short, overlapping curved lines for the toes.

9. Use a "C" shaped line to enclose the dog's stubby tail. then contour the chest muscles, around the mouth, and inside the ear with short curved lines.

Your cartoon Doberman outline is now complete. Color your new best friend. Most Dobermans are black with brown markings. Others are blue (gray), rust (reddish), or fawn (light brown) with tan markings.
