Drawing Step 3

3. Outline Pete’s head. Use overlapping curved lines to sketch the top of his head, his triangular ears, and the sides and bottom of his face.
Drawing Step 4

4. Extend curved lines from one side of the face to indicate the whiskers. Then, begin drawing the body. Use a slightly curved line for one side of the neck and the front of the body, and an “L” shaped line for the other side of the neck and the back.
Drawing Step 5

5. Use geometric shapes made of straight lines to continue sketching the legs and belly. One partial rectangle distinguishes the front legs, and the other indicates the front and back legs.
Then, extend curved lines from the opposite side of the face, completing the whiskers.
Drawing Step 6

6. Draw another partial rectangle to distinguish the back legs from one another. Then, draw a tennis shoe on Pete’s front paw.
Use an inverted triangle for the tongue of the shoe, curved lines to outline the sides and sole of the shoe, and short straight lines to indicate the laces. After all, Pete loves his shoes.
Drawing Step 7

7. Draw a straight line to form the back of the final leg. Then, draw a shoe on the adjoining foot. Again, use an inverted triangle for the tongue of the shoe, curved lines to outline the sides and sole of the shoe, and short straight lines to indicate the laces.
