Bird of Paradise Flower
The bird of paradise flower is named for the resemblance of its pointed petals to the feathers of a majestic bird. Does it look like a bird's head with a crown of feathers to you?
Violets
Violets have five petals that seem to hang at an odd angle from the base of the bloom. The leaves are heart-shaped and have jagged edges and deep veins.
Iris Flower
The petals of an iris are arranged in a unique configuration. Some stand erect while others hang down. The petals face outward in different directions. Before the bloom opens, the petals are tightly coiled into a spear.
Potted Plant
This flower pot is vibrantly decorated with wavy lines and polka dots. The flower itself resembles a hibiscus - large petals surrounding long anthers and stamens.
Camellia
Camellias have many petals in a configuration similar to a rose. The leaves are also similar to those of a rose, pointed and with serrated edges
Calla Lily
The bloom of a calla lily consists primarily of a single petal coiled around the flower's center. The leaves are narrow like blades of grass.
Holly

Snapdragon

Tuberose
Tuberoses are not shaped like traditional roses. They are trumpet-shaped flowers with six petals, and many of them are set around a spearlike stem.
Lotus Flower
The exotic blossom is floating on a lily pad. It sets a similar scene reminiscent of Claude Monet's most famous painting.

Tulips like these make a great houseplant in early spring, but they can also be planted in the ground. Add them to your collection.
Aster
Asters are daisies. They have fuzzy centers surrounded by many narrow petals in a recognizable teardrop shape.
Hibiscus
The hibiscus is a tropical flower that conjures visions of Hawaii and other vacation destinations. It has large petals and a long, prominent pistil in the center.
